Mr. Chen did not deliver a lecture. He gave a lesson. He pulled more seeds from his pocket -- sixty years of careful saving -- and handed them to Dev. By the time he was finished, there was a proper raised bed plan sketched on the back of Chloe's notebook. Dev stood holding the seeds in both hands, overwhelmed. 'Why are you being so kind to me?'
