Room for Two?
By the end of the first day her notebook had three pages of Willowmere in it. Then the rain came back, soft and steady, and she found a doorstep with an overhang and sat watching it fall. A priest she didn't know yet walked past under a large umbrella, paused, and tilted it toward her. "Room for two?" They sat in comfortable silence for a while, watching the rain together, two strangers who somehow didn't feel like strangers.
