By Tuesday, Marco had heard about the garden. He arrived with two bags of food and no particular plan, which turned out to be exactly the right approach. Dev and his father dug the raised bed frame. Rosie planted seeds with her tongue out. Mr. Chen supervised. A few neighbours wandered over and never quite left. Chloe sat on a bucket and drew all of it in her notebook, not sure what she was writing. A beginning, maybe.
