Illustrated computer workbench with glowing utility modules
Boot laboratory no. 07 · Saturday shift

Startup Symphony

Your tiny utilities are all brilliant. Your computer would still like to reach the desktop this century. Assemble a lean startup orchestra, then conduct the boot and see which helpers elbow one another in the doorway.

Awaiting startup

The machine has made no alarming noises. Yet.

Small tools,
civilized machine.

Jon’s original startup tray was a wonderfully specific portrait of how he worked: clipboard search, automatic notes, plain-text pasting, window finding, keyboard automation, screen capture, and tiny system meters. This bench keeps that spirit but asks the awkward modern question: which helpers earn the right to wake up every single time?
